Stuff

Oh. I miss our stuff.
Y'know-comfy mattresses and lounges. Toys for the kids. Cooking utensils and appliances.

The temporary housing is ..... adequate. But it definitely feels temporary.
3 months is a long time to be without stuff.
It's challenging. Sometimes in good ways and sometimes in kinda "tear your hair out" ways.

I suspect a lonely bout of gastro coupled with Anthony's first real working week has added to the challenge.

Today is good though. I have felt the sun on my back, the sand and the ocean on my toes and spied turtles from the park. Being outside with the family can chase away the sads rather quickly.
Now to endure Anthony's night shifts :O

Things I know...

About Port Hedland today:

*Washing takes about two hours to dry here-and this is Autumn! Not having to commit to doing washing and hang it out at 6am is great. Decide to do a load at midday and it's dry before the end of the day :)

*Exploring a new park and sipping on a HOT cappucino is bliss. Until the smallest one gets knocked out by his big brother on the swing and then IT"S ALL OVER!!

*Apparently this town has an environmental deal with the devil, that or we are the test group for climate change sceptics. Considering we are a town with 97% sunshine you would think there would be enough solar panels here to blind aliens on distant planets but no, all I've seen are a few solahart hot water systems.
The locals also don't believe in recycling for some reason, but you can "friend" the mayor on facebook and have coffee with her in the shopping centre so maybe I can find out.
Given our low precipitation rates water tanks would just be sensible right? Nup. No water tanks and no low flow showers/taps (secretly loving that. sorry mother earth)
This is doing my dready hippy head in!!

*Even though it is 28c and sunny to us greenhorns the locals consider this the cool season and thus the pool is closed until spring :O
Insert 3 very annoyed children here.

*The kids suddenly are open to every single activity I throw their way. They used to hesitate, moan and get anxious about new things but all of a sudden they are putting their hand up for everything!! They have a cartooning workshop coming up and Anthony is taking them to check out Go Karting.

*My not-quite-husband looks hot in his new hi-visibility work uniform <3

Picture Story

SO over this whole moving thing mum!!

Aircraft Spotting out the hotel window in Sydney

Making himself at home at The Stamford

Feedback from Scott

There are no photos from our flights, airport adventures. I had intended to get great momentous shots but it was too hectic with the terrorists (that'd be our kids-not the Osama variety) and the baggage of a small country.

Wildlife spotting on our first night in Pt. Hedland

The breakfast of champions on the first morning of our new life. 2minute noodles and OJ-some had snot on the side.

East to West

So long San Remo. Arrivederci NSW.
You were good to us. A house, 3 children, eleven years of steady employment.
It's time to break up though. It's not you (really it is-you are cold and crowded and quite frankly we've been looking for an out for quite some time now) It's us.
Yes, we've met someone else. They're friendly, quietly contemplative and warm-sometimes even sizzling hot!!

We'll stay in touch. You'll always hold a special place in our hearts. Yes, we can still be friends.

Stay tuned for the break-up journey pictures.
